I watched a few youtube videos before choosing a machine and one of those videos made the claim that you couldn’t quilt successfully on a machine that cost less than $500. That was pretty far out of my budget, considering I had never used a sewing machine before and didn’t know if it was something I would even want to invest a lot of time into learning. I bought this to replace my mother’s Singer touch and Sew that she gave me years ago. It was hers in high school! Wonderful machine to learn on but I was ready for my own. It was a headache looking through all the different machines and reviews but I finally settled on this one and I’m so glad I did! I’ve been using it for over a month now. It works great, it’s easy to use, I love that I can just pick a stitch instead of having to insert a stitch disc like the dinosaur I had been using and something so small like the machine threader has made me really appreciate my decision for finally upgrading.
